Jazz Nights in the Heights at Trailside Event Center, second floor of Trefzger's Bakery, 4416 N. Prospect Road, Peoria Heights.
We are delighted to present a diverse evening of jazz with Derel and Ellen Monteith. Derel will be on keyboard and Ellen on vocals, along with several of the region’s best musicians. Derel was a piano prodigy as a child, and later earned a jazz degree from the University of Miami and studied composition with Maria Schneider; we regularly enjoy his work in the Derel Monteith Trio. Ellen brings alive a variety of musical styles, drawing from decades in musical theater and nightclub performances. Together with area musicians they will be performing something for everyone; jazz and blues standards, show tunes, latin and even a little R&B. You won’t want to miss this show.
The Central Illinois Jazz Society House Band will play during the first set, under the leadership of Larry Harms - sax
