The Metamora Township High School Jazz Ensemble is an auditioned ensemble at Metamora Township High School, and is one of the top performing ensembles within the music program. Starting rehearsals in October, these students give up their time every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning to learn about the style, pedagogy, and history of Jazz, as well as put together multiple programs for various audiences at competitions and clinics around the state. Under the direction of Zachary Hilligoss, the students learn about their craft and cultivate a new culture throughout the community using knowledge and understanding as their tools and music as their language. .

Illinois Central College Hard Bop Jazz Band. This seventeen- piece ensemble, directed by Larry Harms - sax, will fill the room with feature tunes by Stevie Wonder, Cole Porter, Billy Preston, Eddie Harris, Duke Ellington, and a new remix of Henry Mancini’s Pink Panther. Larry also directs the popular CIJS House band. We hope you will come out and enjoy their performance.
