Dave Hoffman and Friends on Sunday at four in the afternoon, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Peoria has inaugurated a new Jazz Vesper service with Dave Hoffman and various friends filling the church with everything from cool to hot jazz in praise of God. Dave doesn’t water anything down, so we hear the best of his art in this service of worship.
Vespers are a very old tradition in the Christian Church. The form is simple with Scripture, Prayers and music … along with a short Homily (sermon). It is a forty minute service, keeping it within the bounds of possibility for even younger children. We hope it will truly become a way to bridge all age groups … worshipping together each week.

Jazz Nights in the Heights at Trailside Event Center, second floor of Trefzger's Bakery, 4416 N. Prospect Road, Peoria Heights.
Nathan Taylor & Friends explode with rich sound and purely blended talent. This talent is bathed in a wide range of vintage American jazz, blues & roots music, born of the soul of the Heartland (and the most fortunate front porches of Canton, Illinois).
From classic roots songs and blues of the delta to early New Orleans jazz and Nathan Taylor originals, their audiences dance to soulful spins on the old styles mixed with new music as they are transported to simpler times, past and present.
While Nathan Taylor plays plenty of gigs solo and with other talented musicians, his original music shines all over in regular performances with his core group, Nathan Taylor Band. This all-star group is Adam Kimbrell on upright bass, Tom Stoner on trumpet, Larry Harms on Clarinet, Jason Brannon on drums and Nathan Taylor on guitar, harmonica and vocals.
The Central Illinois Jazz Society (CIJS) House Band will play during the first set, under the leadership of Larry Harms - sax
