David has blessed our Peoria jazz scene and CIJS for decades, as well as being an arranger, composer, instructor and mentor to many now professional musicians. Those who have attended previous programs know how talented David is as a writer and as a performer. He also provides the music for the Jazz Vespers service at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Prior to this he toured with Ray Charles for over 13 years. Need we say more? His group features excellent musicians from Central Illinois. David will be playing Trumpet and Flugelhorn, with Derel Monteith on keyboard, Andy Crawford on bass, Mike Nellas on guitar and Jason Brannon on drums. David will provide a broad selection of jazz numbers and original tunes.
The Central Illinois Jazz Society (CIJS) is a non-profit organization that is open to anyone who enjoys jazz. You do not have to be a musician to be a member or to attend our programs. Please consider joining the Central Illinois Jazz Society and supporting live jazz.
