Student Appreciation Night
Illinois Valley Central High School Jazz bands I and II- 6PM
Over the years, the IVC jazz bands have received high awards at festivals from WIU, ISU, Milliken and others. The bands and students have performed in ILMEA State Conferences over the years and continuously perform around the Peoria area. Many students have gone on to perform at the collegiate level, professionally or have active careers in music education, therapy, business and composition.
Illinois Wesleyan University Jazz Ensembles- 7:15 PM
The IWU Jazz Ensemble will be performing with special guest, NYC guitarist Rory Stuart. Rory and IWU director Glenn Wilson have a long performing and recording history including their unique 1991 recording "Bittersweet" which is the only known recording of guitar and baritone saxophone duets. The IWU Jazz Combo will also perform. The IWU ensembles are a combination of music majors and those students who enjoy playing jazz.
