| | Carl's musical career began in Sedalia, MO as an accordianist, playing local restaurants at age 12. After hearing recordings of Art Van Damn (Chicago jazz accordianist), he developed a similar style and an interest in jazz. That interest led to a switch to piano and vibes. As a music minor at Central Missouri State University, he played vibes and piano with the jazz combo and lab band. His quartet worked resorts at the Lake of the Ozarks during that time. Leaving college with a degree in marketing and a desire to play, Carl traveled for 12 years throughout the United States and Canada as a single, duo, or trio playing a variety of hotels and clubs. Carl has been performing in the Peoria area for the last 20 years. He is a member of Class Act, a 4 piece group (trumpet, trombone, keys and drums) but primarily performs as a single act. Carl loves to play and it shows, but he is also an excellent singer and an entertainer who knows how to work a crowd. Check www.carlbopp.com for current schedule or call. |
